Spread Joy with Random Acts of Kindness: Wk 7

Join the East County RAK Challenge. Let's show our kids how fun it is to bless others.

Three times we've come home with a new baby, and all three seasons we were blessed with people from our church, family and friends who came out of the woodwork to help us in different ways.

Here are a few ways you can help a family who is adjusting to life with a new little family member!

  • Set up a meal train to encourage others to bring meals to the tired family, such as Meal Baby
  • Schedule a cleaning person you use/trust, or grab a Groupon for a cleaning agency to come clean the house
  • Go yourself, and wash dishes, fold laundry, take out the trash. Any tasks that involve lifting or are highly physical are ones a recovering mama needs to avoid.
  • Take their older kids to play outside so sleepy parents can get a nap
  • Prepare a meal and bring it by (with advance notice, of course)
  • If you're a less-than-skilled cook, feel free to send an Uber Eats order or pizza delivery.
  • Ask for a list, and pick up some grocery staples the family is in need of, or if you have a membership with grocery delivery, have it dropped off!

There are so many ways we can bless families with new babies at home. We all want to go hold the new baby (and we should!), but what new moms REALLY need is someone to do the chores, so she can nap with, feed and bond with that new baby!

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, and share about your experience there!
