Pickwick Players was established in 2010 and provides important theatrical experiences for East County and San Diego as a whole. We are one of only two theatres in the county with all-youth productions that do not charge production fees to its actors, and we are the only one that as a rule fills our season with shows that feature youth and adults together on stage.
This season, we recently performed Footloose which included a teen and adult cast, and we will be doing the same with Treasure Island this summer. Auditions are coming in late May. In late fall, we will be presenting A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play.
For seven years, we performed at Off Broadway Live in Santee, and this year we started a partnership with Carlton Oaks School. We perform there and also provide an after school production each year.
This fall, we will be presenting Schoolhouse Rock Live for the Carlton Oaks students to rehearse and perform. Audition info can be found here!
Our current production, Treasure Island runs through August 25. It includes an all-youth cast from age 8 to 18, including Santee School District and West Hills High School students, as well as highly talented youth all around San Diego county.
