Here comes the sun, little darlin'!

By Lindsay Rizzo May 29, 2019

Today is my daughter's last day of preschool. I will be picking her up in an hour at the same front door where I took her first-day-of-school photo what seems like a week or two ago...

In these past 9 months she's learned to write her name, we've read countless books, she's learned to sit quietly on a carpet and pay attention. She's made friendships that have potential to last a lifetime; she's experienced obeying adults other than her mom and dad.

On Friday, we will watch her graduate preschool with tears in our eyes, realizing we have 13 summers left with her before she's off to college.

In some ways, I feel the end of the school year is even more of a life-check than ringing in a new calendar year. What have I accomplished in these past 9 months while she's been working away on new skills and talents? More importantly, what do I plan to do to make the most of this, our first of 13 summers left with her?

I hope we are all embracing the emotional transition into summertime. Dry your tears, because we are entering into the season wherein we get to make the most lasting memories with our kids! Vacations, days at the pool and the beach, summer camps where new friends will be made, water balloon fights... The sun is rising on an otherwise very emotional chapter in our year. Before you know it, you'll be reading my first-day-of-school articles!

In the meantime, be sure and utilize our end of school printable signs, and be on the lookout for our East County boredom busters article coming soon!

Til next week, lift one another up out there in the community. See you on Facebook!

XO,

Lindsay
